• Urban_edge apartment: proposal designs for renovation of a two-bedroom apartment in Polygono, Athens. Study - construction (2017)

 An important element of the renovation is to move the kitchen from its original position, creating a new space which can be used either as a guest or as office. By this concept the apartment is converted from one - bedroom to two - bedrooms apartment. With the new layout, the kitchen is part of the everyday living area along with the dining and living room. The typology of the master plan has the hall area as the core of the apartment from which someone can access the other remaining areas of the apartment (living room, bedroom, office, and bathroom). 

The use of materials and colors is as follows: in the office area and the bath were placed on floor hexagons cement tiles in geometric and floral patterns respectively creating grout a honeycomb lattice. The choice of wall colors was based on the arrangement of spaces, so every room has a corresponding color. At the daily living area (living, dining, kitchen) is colored with dark blue, in the office area is colored with ceramic red, the bedroom has hue of mocha colors, and in the hall grey . The kitchen is designed and painted also in dark blue color in order to be part of the room with the only elements to distinguish the white rough kitchen countertop and backsplash white extra clear glass.
